Zen Equals Non-discriminative Wisdom
By Satiman
Perceiving multiplicity dualistically
Discriminative Actuality is perceived
The Deluded does not perceive Tao
Because of ignorance of ineffability of Truth
The Awakened One penetrates world- illusion
with non-discriminative wisdom
The worldlings grasp or cling
Reifying the empirical world with I or Mine
Reacting with attachment and aversion
Plunging into vexation or anguish
Afflicted further in future lives
Conditioned and saṃsāric incessantly
Afflicted with selfishess or egoism
Zen and egoism mutually exclusive
Zen is transcendence of egoism
Transcending dualism or discrimination
A glimpse of I-ness or Mine-ness
make the Tao of Zen vanish
Eradicating the cankers or taints
The Tao of Zen returns
Auto-commentary by writer:
The experience of Zen or Chan is the manifestation of Buddha-mind or No-mind. No-mind is the annihilation of illusive self or ego which is unreal and does not exist in the first place. It has been superimposed by the false conceptualization of the ordinary worldlings. When the mind is empty of self or ago, the consciousness is purified. When the consciousness is purified, the Enlightened One redeems his or her Original Nature known as Buddha-nature. The manifest of the Buddha-nature or Buddha mind is actually the manifestation of non-dwelling mind (apratiṣṭhitaṃ cittaṃ) or the Perfection of Wisdom (prajñāpāramitā) from the Mahāyāna perspective. From the view of the Theravāda tradition, non-dwelling mind is pure consciousness or non-manifestative consciousness. It is elucidated as in-operative consciousness (kiriya-viññāṇa) in the Abhidhamma of the Theravāda tradition. It is known as Kṛṣna Consciousness in the Hindu tradition. It is designated as Tao in Taoism and Holy Spirit in Christianity. |
