Avoid Evils and Do Good, and Purify the Mind
By Satiman
I restrain myself
To avoid the unwholesome
I open wide my arms
of benevolence and compassion
To embrace the needy
I meditate energically but serenely
Unifying my scattered mind
I journey through the jhānas
I contemplate on Anicca or Anattā
Silencing the untamed mind
I migrate unobstructedly
From attentiveness to mindfulness
From grasping to non-grasping
From self to Non-self
From impurity to purity
I renounce
The proprietorship of all my wealth
Yet still at my disposal
Journeying from illusion to awakening
From emptiness to middle path
Entering into the Centre of the Heart
I open the gate of the Exalted One
He greets me with a wide smile
Welcome home, my dear son
This is your real home
This is a permanent blissful home
Dhamma eye illuminates the five aggregates
Self or ego vanishes instantaneously
The Dharmabody is manifested
There is actually nobody
Yet it is somebody beyond expression
I have become a backyard Bodhisattva |
