Burning Aloes-wood

  1. There was an old man’s son who followed his father footsteps and went to the sea to gather aloes-wood.

  2. This is all the wood I’ve managed to gather after more than a year of hard work. They are very precious.
  3. No Sales!
He then transported them into the market but could not find a buyer.
  4. Charcoal! Charcoal!
He saw the charcoal seller getting good response from buyer.
  5. Hmmm…. He can sell his goods quickly while I sold nothing.
  6. Then suddenly and idea struck him!
  7. It might be better for me to burn the aloes-wood into charcoal and have a quick profit.
  8. Who wants to by charcoal?
    Me! Me!
  9. Wow!!! Everything is sold off with a price less than half of a cart-load charcoal.
  10. Is he crazy?

As a result, the Buddha’s teachings will be divided. People will be confused as to whether it is the real teachings of the Buddha or not. At the end, the Buddha’s sacred teachings will be lost.
