I’m the Truth
K.S.Chow
Two types of I
Operating in human beings
‘I’ functions as the false self
False self is self-centric ego
Religion negates the false self
How could a worldling be defined
He is one empowered by the false self
‘I’ becomes the untruth
This is the root of anguish
Such ‘I’ impedes freedom or deliverance
The Gnostic discerns the True Self
In himself and nowhere else
He declares : I’m the Truth
If he is a Buddhist
He says : I’m the Buddha
If he is a Hindu,
He says he is the Brahman
If he is a Monotheist
He says he is the God
He says he is the Truth
God is eternal Truth
I’m the God
It means thus: I’m the medium
The image through which God (Truth) is known
Do not rush to persecute him
Ego or self is carnal being
Non-self is the spiritual Being of Unity – God
You may designate the Being as Buddha
You may call the Being as Jesus or Holy spirit
You may name is as Brahman or Tao
Auto-commentary:
A realized Man is the perfect image of the God, Brahman or Buddha. God, Brahman or Buddha is a mere designation that represents an eternal Truth. In truth, the linguistic designation of ‘God’, Brahman or ‘Buddha’ does not suffice to depict the Truth. The best way to depict the ineffable or unspeakeable Truth is a golden ‘Silence’. However, when it is expressed by a Self-Realizer who says, “I’m the Buddha”, it connotes that he has realized the Buddha-mind – the pure and infinite human consciousness. When Sufi utters, “I’m God.”, he conveys the divine message that he has attained al-fanā’ or Baqā’ . What they mean is that Truth is sought within the inner Heart and not outside it. Truth is seen by Man himself in himself. When the Knower of Truth says, “I’m the Truth.”, it is Non-self that says I’m Non-self. Non-self is the Essence or Attribute of God. Only Non-self exists ultimately and self does not exist. Only God exists and anything other than God which is self does not exist. Non-self is the Truth of God. Non-self or God is the complete annihilation of self-centric ego. There is only one and only Truth sustaining the cosmos, that is Non-self or God.
