Welcome to the Buddhist Door (www.buddhistdoor.com)!

Professor Randy Pausch gave his “final talk” to 400 students at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, because he was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer with only a few months left. He was forty six with three children at the age of five, three, and one. He showed slides of the cross section scanned results from the hospital, and there were ten tumors. Many people came to his talk sadly and assumed that he would be miserable. Pausch said, “I am sorry to disappoint you!”. He cheerfully did push up with one hand and both hands on the floor which made people laugh. He then reviewed the story of his life of how he achieved his childhood dreams. He spoke with a great sense of humor and he encouraged others to do so. People applauded at his spirit. His speech also inspired others on the internet. A worthy life does not depend not on longevity but quality – how to bring meaning to the society, how to demonstrate wisdom and compassion, how to benefit others by practicing the acts of Bodhisattva, how to enlighten others by self enlightenment. The final speech of Randy Pausch reminded us on how to face our own final lesson in life.

“Buddhist Door” would like to establish a Buddhist family without border, so that Buddhist information with correct view can be provided. We also provide a few practicable Buddhist tools to our readers:

International Buddhists’ Local Bulletin (IBLB)

An international Buddhists’ local bulletin to provide free registration for our readers to make announcements on Buddhist activities such as seminars, lectures, etc.  or exchange information.

Samanta Buddhist Glossary

This is a practical “electronic dictionary on Buddhism” for anyone who needs to deal with Buddhist terminologies in English, Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan, and Japanese. The dictionary will be expanded and updated periodically. Please send us your comment for improvement.

Devotional Buddhist Songs and Mantras

Peaceful and enjoyable Zen music, songs, chants of Pali and Sanskrit, Tibetan and Chinese mantras are provided for readers to enjoy.

The objective of Buddhist Door is to provide services through the internet to Buddhists internationally.
