Introduction to
The Sutra of Buddha's Bequeathed Teaching

The Sutra contains the last teachings of Shakyamuni delivered to the disciples assembled around his bed between two sal trees. In this last sermon, the Buddha urged his disciples to strive for enlightenment through the Three Learnings (Precepts, Meditation and Wisdom) and other basic Buddhist doctrines. He then ended by saying that this was his last teaching.
